Karishma Walia loves her pet dog Lucy. In fact she won't let anybody come between them, even her fiancee. This became apparent after her future spouse made a demand that provoked her into calling of the wedding alltogether.

A native of Bengaluru, who is currently working in Gurgaon, Karishma's marriage was arranged by her parents with a man from a well-to-do family in New Delhi.

During a WhatsApp conversation between the two, which went viral, the man requested that she give up her pet dog as his family did not like canines in general. Karishma made it clear that the dog came with her or that there would be no marriage.

Karishma Walia's bold decision has attained her praise from the social media world, although she says that her parents are still imploring her to reconsider. She says her now apparently former fiancee has also been trying to coax her to change her mind but she remains steadfast.

'Puppy love' taken too far?
A British woman married her dog, as she found all traits she looked for in a life partner, in her pet. Amanda Rodgers, who has been divorced once, said that her loyal pet terrier, Sheba, has been in her life for years, making her laugh and comforting her when she was feeling low, according to reports from a leading news daily.
