'Madhubala' makers plan to sue actress Navneet Nishan

Actress Navneet Nishan set tongues wagging after walking out of 'Madhubala', the daily soap on television. Not only did the makers accuse her of unprofessionalism, they promptly replaced her with another actress, Seema Kapoor. However, going one step forward, the show producers are now planning to drag the issue to court.

Insiders say Navneet’s walkout had caused serious financial damage to the producers and they now want the actress to cough up Rs 2 crore to compensate their losses. The makers want to take legal action after her sudden no-show.

Says a source, “Though we have completed more than 400 episodes of the show, we had issues with Navneetji ever since we started shooting. She was required to shoot for eight hours a day, which she never did. Moreover, she always used to be in high spirits on the set. Twice she left the shoot suddenly and we had to bear huge loss due to her.”

Producer Abhinav Shukla confirms, “We are going to take this matter to the Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA). I am in talks with my lawyer.”

In the meanwhile, the actress has also filed a complain in CINTAA against the production house and says, “They tried to defame me. Let the association deal with it.”u00a0
