The Orlando Magic claimed their ninth win in 10 games as Dwight Howard's league-leading 55th double-double helped them to a 109-93 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Orlando Magic claimed their ninth win in 10 games as Dwight Howard's league-leading 55th double-double helped them to a 109-93 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.


Howard had 23 points and 15 rebounds, while Rashard Lewis poured in 24 points as Orlando, who top the Southeast Division, reached the 50-win mark for the third successive season.


Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand each had 23 points for Philadelphia.


The Boston Celtics saw their four-game winning streak grind to a halt as the Utah Jazz claimed a 110-97 victory.

The win was built on an unanswered run of 16 points spanning the second and third quarters.

C.J. Miles led the way with 23 points for the Jazz, while Deron Williams added 22 points and 11 assists.

John Salmons' 32 points helped the Milwaukee Bucks come from behind to beat the Atlanta Hawks, who they could face in the play-offs, 98-95.

Carlos Delfino backed up Salmons' efforts with 23 points.

The Miami Heat rode 27 points and 12 assists from Dwayne Wade to register a 99-89 win over the New Jersey Nets.

Marcus Thornton scored 28 points as New Orleans beat the Dallas Mavericks 115-99, a match which also saw the return of Hornets guard Chris Paul.

Paul managed 21 minutes in his return from a knee injury which sidelined him for 25 games, scoring 11 points.

The Phoenix Suns beat the the Golden State Warriors 133-131 courtesy of 37 points from Amare Stoudemire and 34 from Jason Richardson.

Elsewhere, the San Antonio Spurs beat Oklahoma City 99-96 despite Thunder forward Kevin Durant's 45 points, the Chicago Bulls beat the Houston Rockets 98-88, the Memphis Grizzlies were 102-85 winners against the Sacramento Kings 102-85 and the Minnesota Timberwolves suffered their 13th consecutive loss, 106 -100 against the Toronto Raptors.
