Maharaja Sir Harishinghji Trophy promises to be a thriller

With four of the five runners in the fray for the Lighting Technologies Maharaja Sir Harishinghji Trophy (Gr 2) closely matched on paper, the feature event of the Sunday card at Mahalaxmi to be run over a mile, will most likely turn out to be a thriller.

Although falling short on the Classics scale, all the three four year olds in the fray--Phoenix Tiger, Colombiana and Jefferson--have done enough to command staunch followers who will be restless to support them. To these youngsters' names, I will also add an older horse, Apache, as a prime contender for the top spot, especially as he will be going over the same mile trip over which he scored his last sensational victory.

One among those mentioned above, Phoenix Tiger, may bounce back to his old form after failed attempts in the Classics to stretch beyond the mile and may run a very bold race.

First race at 5 pm.
