>> Flights landing before 12 noon will land at old terminal while aircraft scheduled to arrive after midday will touch down at T2

>> In order to eliminate confusion, old terminal will be closed for operations from 2 pm onwards and roads leading to the terminal will be barricaded

CM to inaugurate Sahar Elevated road
The Sahar Elevated Road will be thrown open to traffic tomorrow. Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan will inaugurate the six-lane approach road that has four entry and two exit points. The length of the proposed road is 2 km, and the cost of the project is Rs 287.37 crore.

This road has been funded under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission. MMRDA Joint Project Director Dilip Kawatkar said, “The decision to allow two-wheelers on the elevated road will be taken by the traffic department.”

Access to T2

>> All international passengers making their way on four-wheelers and private buses to CSIA will be allowed access to T2’s departure zone at Level-4 through the Sahar Elevated Road that connects the Western Express Highway with CSIA

>> No entry for three-wheelers and two-wheelers on the newly constructed elevated road. They, including BEST buses, will have to use the existing road to access the T2 building

>> GVK and MIAL employees will occupy positions at all entry points to guide passengers to the entrance gates for departure and arrivals

>> In case any passenger turns up at the old terminal, GVK staff has made arrangements to transport them to T2
>> Of the 21,000 sq-m retail space made available for retailers inside, T2 will only see a handful of counters open, as it will take a minimum two months for all the shops to open

>> In order to ensure everything goes according to plan on the first day and thereafter, GVK has conducted 46 trials and 40 operational trials capable of handling with 1,700 passengers with the help of 600 staffers in the last seven months.
