“Chavan has announced an aid of Rs 10 crore from CM relief fund to the flood victims,” a statement from chief minister’s office said.

Welcoming the chief minister’s decision, the Maharashtra unit of Congress said it would also chip in with a consignment of 20 rubber and motorised fibre boats to help the flood relief operations in the deluged state.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik and Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, have also extended aid of Rs 5 crore each to the flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir.
