Maharashtra govt to exempt ST buses from paying toll

Maharashtra government today said that state transport (ST) buses would be exempted from paying toll following the issuance of new tenders.

"Hence forward whenever new tenders would be issued ST would be exempted from paying the toll. The government would mention the clause in the new tender process to exempt ST buses," Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan informed in the Legislative Council.

He said that the state government will also talk to existing toll plazas to exempt state transport buses from paying toll.


BJP legislator Dhananjay Munde had raised the issue through a calling attention motion during special sitting of the House.
