The Science and Technology Park (SATP) at Pune University has decided to construct the country's first oceanarium in Tondawadi, Sindhudurg. The work for the Rs 509 crore project is expected to start by September 2012. "The venture should be seen as an eco-friendly developmental option for coastal Konkan, and we expect the ocenarium to attract over 35 lakh tourists to the region," said SATP director Rajiv Jagdale.
