After a short stint in Bollywood and 'Bigg Boss', Mahek Chahal is all set to play the antagonist in Mona Singh and Vivek Dahiya's 'Kavach'. However, speculations were rife that the starlet might have lost out on the project due to her inability to come to shoot.

Apparently, Mahek had met with an accident and was thus unable to shoot. The makers were in a dilemma because they have to prepare a bank of episodes before the show goes on air. Rumour mills suggested that Ekta Kapoor and her production house Balaji Telefilms were already on a lookout for a replacement and have already started taking auditions. In a few days the show will go on air and the grand launch is set for the upcoming week.

A source informs, "Mahek was injured. She has a massive ligament tear and was advised bed rest for some days. The major part of the shoot for now is already underway. She will soon be back on the sets. They have no plans to replace her. In fact, her cast is coming off by the end of the week and she will be present at the launch of the show and for the shoots ahead."
