A major fire broke out at a nursing home in a South Mumbai five-storied residential building on Thursday evening.
The blaze started at around 7.55 pm in the evening at the building which is near Roxy Cinema in Girgaum.

The fire brigade officials received a call at around 7.55 pm after which 10 vehicles from the fire brigade department including fire engines, water tankers and ambulances rushed to the spot. The fire brigade rescued 18 people from the nursing home, which was on the second floor.
However, fire brigade officials told mid-day that the nursing home was closed during the fire incident which meant no casualties.
According to fire brigade officials, “We received a call at 7.55 pm on Thursday that there a fire had broken out in a nursing floor of a five-floor building Nusser in Girgaum, after which our 10 vehicles reached the spot and safely rescued eighteen people safely.”
The fire brigade officials told mid-day that the reason for the fire is yet to be known but at present the fire has been brought under control and there has been no injured.
