Now in its second year, Wintertime @Prithvi is around the corner and has a promising line-up of workshops for children. "Sanjna (Kapoor) started the summertime season of workshops and plays for children over 20 years ago. We would get a lot of requests to do more such events.

We realised that for one week around Christmas, children are away from school. So, we decided to repeat the concept at this time too," shares Kunal Kapoor of Prithvi Theatre.

Telling us about the curation process, he adds, "We involve the regular theatre groups and directors, who perform at Prithvi to present
a play or workshop for children on the given dates, take their suggestions and put together a programme we think would be appreciated and would be good for kids."
Here is what's on offer
Drama time: A workshop titled Let's Play Games is aimed to develop spontaneity and sharpen the child's mind. The session, to be conducted by Om Katare, will encourage children to learn how to dramatise, visualise and create stories. Designed in English, the programme will motivate children to express themselves, build creativity and confidence.
AGE: 6 to 9 ON December 25 to 31
TIME: 9 am to 10.30 am
COST: Rs 4,000
Games we play: Conducted by Anita Salim and Aaryama Salim, Daily Drama is targeted at slightly older children. It will help them participate in theatre games that play with senses, and include body expression, music and movement.
AGE: 9 to 12 ON December 25 to 31
TIME: 11.30 am to 1 pm

Photo fun: Shawn Lewis will conduct a Colourful Photography workshop that will help children create photo-stories and explore the art of portrait, food and street photography through activities specially designed for teenagers with an eye for creative camera work. Technical concepts such as aperture and shutter speed will also be part of the workshop.

TIME: 2 pm to 4 pm

Good and bad: Learn all about a performance, including how to begin and end one, and also the difference between an average and a good performance and other nuances that make it stand out in a workshop conducted by Makarand Deshpande.
