Malwani triple murder: CCTV captures woman in bloody clothes 100m away

A day after a 50-year-old woman and her two young grandchildren were murdered in Malwani, the police have found CCTV footage of a woman who may have their blood on her hands – literally.

The family of three — Babli Shaw (50), Aaryan Sheikh (13), and Shaniya Sheikh (10) — were found in a pool of blood after they were brutally stabbed in the early hours of Thursday.

The police found traces of blood in the family’s washbasin and in a nearby public toilet. The cops believe that the killer was trying to wash the victims’ blood off and had possibly injured themselves during the crime as well.

Now, the Malwani police have found CCTV footage of three people walking on a road just 100 metres from the crime scene. Two of the suspects are men, but it was the third — a woman — who caught the attention of the investigators. Not only were her clothes blood-stained, but her hand also seemed to be injured. “With the help of the CCTV images, we are searching those suspects. We have showed the footage to all the people who were questioned yesterday, but no one ha been identified yet,” said an official from Malwani Police.

Yesterday, mid-day had reported that the family was murdered in their sleep, but there were no signs of forced entry, leading the cops to believe that the murder was committed by someone known to grandmother, Babli.

The cops further suspect that the motive might have been a personal grudge against Babli, who was running several illegal rackets from her home.
