Chennai: The anti-terrorism squad (ATS) of the Rajasthan Police on Tuesday arrested in Chennauia person suspected of links with the Islamic State terror group, said police.


The suspect, Haroon Rasheed, runs a shop in Burma Bazaar in Chennai, according to officials.

Rasheed was alleged to have raised funds for the terror outfit. He was also suspected of being involved in recruiting people for the IS.

The police had zeroed in on Rasheed after the arrest of Mohammad Iqbal in Chennai in February.
