The unidentified 24-year-old man was allegedly drunk when he crashed the annual Kingston Santa Claus parade last Saturday and shouted, “Santa isn’t real” to shocked children, the Toronto Star reported.
Kingston police arrested the man, who gelled his hair to look like a set of devil horns protruding from his head, around 6 p.m., Const. Steve Koopman said.
“It was pretty despicable that someone, during this time of the year, would tell kids Santa isn’t real — which of course we would argue,” the Koopman said.
The man spent Saturday night in a cell while he sobered up. He was granted bail in the court the next morning on the condition that he would abstain from alcohol, Koopman said.
The man is charged with causing a disturbance by being drunk and breach of probation.
