A 36-year-old man, claiming to the brother of filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, was roughed up and allegedly robbed of valuables worth around Rs six lakh at knife point, police said.

Complainant Kalpesh Bhandarkar, a cameraman by profession, was returning in his car to his home in suburban Dahisar last night when four people chased him in another vehicle, intercepted him and dragged him out, they said.

After beating him up, they fled with his golden bracelet (80gm) and chain (70gm), leaving behind the car in which they had chased him, police said.

A case was registered at MHB Colony Police Station and Shelton Dias (22), one of the accused, was arrested today, police said adding that hunt was on for others.

Police also said that they were not aware of Kalpesh's claims of being brother of the well-known Bollywood director.
