The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Mumbai airport customs intercepted Chennai-resident Keru Paiya Nagnathan with 12 kilograms of Ketamine, which is a fast-acting anesthetic used in human and veterinary medicine, but has now become popular recreational drug among teens, on Monday night.

Nagnathan was scheduled to board Malaysian Airlines flight for Kaula Lumpur when Deputy Commisioner of Customs Sameer Wankhede intercepted him.

"We stopped him at the departures. During the screening twelve kilograms of ketamine was recovered from his luggage. The drug was concealed in small hand purses, doormats and into the false bottom of his suitcase," officials revealed.
