In a case of honour killing, a man in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad district strangled his 18-year-old daughter due to her relationship with a youth, police said Monday. He has been arrested
Mohd. Shahid, 48, of Veerpur village, killed his daughter Sunday and dumped the body on the outskirts. It was recovered Monday.

"Shahid was dead against the love affair of his daughter with a youth of the same village. On suspicion, we detained him and he broke down," Deputy Superintendent of Police R.N. Mishra said in Moradabad, 300 km from here.
"Shahid said he killed his daughter after she continued to meet the youth and was adamant on marrying him," he added.
