Man released from jail thrown back inside after refusing to leave
Rodney Dwayne Valentine jailed since May 22 refused to leave the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office after his release at 8 am on Saturday morning.
According to the statement released by the country sheriff, the 37-year-old convict had originally landed in jail after being charged with injury to personal property and upon release asked the officers to give him a lift to a motel nearby and when the cops declined, he refused to leave, the New York Daily News reported.
After several hours passed and he still remained, deputies suggested that he take a cab, he refused.
The officials gave Valentine repeated warnings that he had to leave.
At 1 pm the deputies arrested Valentine and charged him with second degree trespassing and tossed him back into jail.
He is being held under 500 dollars bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August 9.
