"It is strange that he recorded his own death," said Mulasavalagi, deputy superintendent of police, Gangavati. "We found it on the camerau00a0 strapped to his wrist."

Goodman arrived in Hampi on February 22 with three friends and checked into Goan Corner, a popular lodge. He went missing the next day, when he went for a swim at the Sanapur lake.u00a0

Search operation
The police immediately launched a search operation with some assistance from Belgaum's Akshatha Underwater Service, a team of rescuers, and fished out Daniel's body from the lake.u00a0

"We found a camera in his hand. The last video clip revealed how he died. The two-minute clip shows how he jumped from a height of about 60 feet and hit a rock underwater that killed him instantly," said Mulasavalagi.u00a0
"The police learnt from his friends that Goodman used to shoot his swimming experiences," said Rachaiah, a photojournalist present at the spot.
