Harish Chandrabhan Timori (29), the ticket checking staff at Kandivli station was on platform number one when he caught Igwe, who allegedly threatened him.
Surprisingly, he came back to the spot three hours later and hit Timori with a steel rod. “Eyewitnesses reported that Igwe was drunk,” said another ticket checking staffer. Timori was immediately rushed to a hospital and, after being administered medication and receiving stitches on his head, he was discharged.
Meanwhile, the passengers and other ticket staffers caught Igwe after he tried to flee the spot. Shivajirao Bagal, Senior Inspector (GRP), Borivli, said, “We have arrested Igwe and he has been sent to judicial custody.”
