Tattoos on a victim’s body helped police trace the identity of a man who had committed suicide. On January 2, the Dadar police had found the dead body of a man on Dadar chowpatty. The deceased was in his late 30s and had multiple tattoos on both his hands. To identify the victim, police had circulated photographs in all police stations across the city.

“We had taken several pictures of the tattoos and had distributed it to several police stations,” said Dhananjay Kulkarni, deputy commissioner of police, Zone V. In reply, the Worli police reverted, saying that they had registered a missing complaint in which the person was described as having tattoos on his right hand. On this basis, the family members identified the body of Dinesh Bajhnoor, who worked at a network marketing company in Khar. He also used to work part-time as an event manager.

Bajhnoor, the police said, had stopped staying with his family members in Kalyan and used to stay alone in Worli Koliwada. “His father had recently been operated upon. But, he used to not give any money to his family. Over this issue, he and his brother had had a minor argument,” said Sunil Kadam, sub-inspector at Dadar police station. Police said the spat had angered the man a lot and he had also spoken about it with his colleagues. “He then took all his belongings to office and probably jumped from the Worli-end of the Bandra Worli Sea Link and ended his life,” added sub-inspector Sunil Kadam.
