Manu Sharma, currently serving a life sentence for murdering model Jessica Lall, will leave jail for five days later this month. The son of influential Congress leader Vinod Sharma had sought parole to attend his brother's wedding and related functions.

Delhi High Court has granted him the permission and warned him not to repeat an earlier performance, when he was seen at a Delhi nightclub while on parole. Sharma can leave jail from November 21-25. He had asked for a parole of 10 days, but the judge observed at an earlier hearing, that "he need not attend all (wedding functions)".
Sharma has also been asked to pay a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and not to travel outside Delhi, Karnal and Ambala.u00a0 In 2009, he was granted parole for a month that was later extended by another 30 days. Sharma had claimed he was needed at home to tend to his sick mother and to help manage his father's business. During this period, he was found at a Delhi nightclub and reportedly misbehaved with women friends of former Delhi Police chief YS Dadwal's son Pranay Dadwal. The incidents had led to huge controversy for him and an embarrassment for the Delhi government, which had not objected to his parole.
Senior counsel Ram Jethmalani, appearing for Sharma, had earlier submitted before the court the schedule for marriage ceremonies, including pre-wedding 'ladies sangeet' on November 21 in Chandigarh, wedding on November 22 in Karnal and reception on November 24 in Ambala. The police had objected to Sharma's plea, citing his past conduct.
Cash-for-vote scam accused granted bail
The Delhi High Court on Wednesday granted bail to Sudheendra Kulkarni, ex-advisor to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and five others accused in the 2008 cash-for-votes scam that had rocked the Parliament ahead of a trust vote. Justice M L Mehta said, "All petitioners are admitted on bail on furnishing of personal and surety bond of Rs 2 lakh each."u00a0 The court granted bail to Kulkarni, former Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MPs Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mahabir Singh Bhagora, Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh's former aide Sanjeev Saxena and self-proclaimed political activist Sohail Hindustani. It directed all petitioners to cooperate in the investigation if required by the Delhi police. The court also granted anticipatory bail to Argal and directed him to appear before the court concerned during the hearing of the case. The Delhi police have received Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar's nod to proceed against Argal.
