Married couple arrested for eight burglary cases

The Dattawadi police have arrested a married couple for their alleged involvement in eight burglary cases that were reported from Narhe-Ambegaon area since the last few months.

The accused have been identified as Bunty alias Mayur Sopan Bhunde (26), and his wife Pooja alias Babli (23), both residentsof Katraj.


Gold ornaments weighing 259 grams, 200 grams of silver ornaments and three bikes have been recovered from the duo, which they had allegedly stolen over the past few months, said police inspector Satish Govekar.


Police constable Raghunath Jadhav and Sudhir Manolkar had received a tip-off on the whereabouts of Pooja, after which she was taken into custody. Police said that during interrogation, she revealed that Mayur was hiding in Kolhapur. When a police team traced Mayur, he was constantly on the move travelling from Kolhapur to Panvel, Chiplun and Pune, Govekar said.u00a0
