Gurgaon: India has the potential to produce many Mary Koms, the Asian Games gold medal winning boxer said yesterday.
The five-time world amateur boxing champion was speaking to the media at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Stadium here during the annual sports day of the Rabindranath World School.
Mary Kom urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to allot her a plot of land in Delhi and the National Capital Region so that she can set up a boxing academy.
"Although I am doing my best to give tips to upcoming women boxers, we can do much better in an academy," she said.
