The prosecution, arguing the Aur-angabad arms haul case in the Special MCOCA Court on Saturday demanded maximum punishment for all 12 convicted in the case. The court will pronounce its sentence on August 2.

“I agree that the arms weren't used, but it was found on them. The court should look at the gravity, brutality, motive, magnitude and its devastating effect on society,” public prosecutor Vaibhav Bagade said.

He further said that nobody had forced the accused to carry the consignment. “The defence is claiming that they were merely foot soldiers, but these accused have participated actively and are conspirators,” Bagade argued.

Speaking about the allegation that the ATS Squad had framed them, he said, “No agency can plant such an offence. We had something concrete against them and hence, they were arrested.”

“Those who are wanted in this case are still roaming free and, if these accused are let off, it might be harmful for society,” Bagade further said.
