The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is all set to make an official request to host the first-ever day-night Test in India at today's Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) working committee meeting in Dharamsala.
"In the interest of Mumbai cricket, I am going to express MCA's willingness and request to host the first day-night Test in India at Wankhede Stadium during forthcoming Test series against England. I am hopeful of Mumbai getting to host it," MCA vice-president Ashish Shelar told mid-day from Dharamsala.
This newspaper reported about MCA's keenness to host a day-night Test on June 17.
"It is very clear that cricket's interest should come first and challenges (of hosting a day-night Test) which come up need to be scientifically, legally and academically addressed," added Shelar.
