"When we stopped Gulati and asked him if he was in possession of any items which attracted duty, he refused to answer our questions. Hence, we took him for a baggage check and on inspection found five khaki coloured polythene bags. The bags contained around 12,550 two and eight GB micro SD cards in all valued at Rs 60 lakh," said an official on the condition of anonymity.

Interrogations revealed that Gulati was a regular carrier of electronic goods from Hong Kong to India. He confessed that he had smuggled television sets from abroad too.
