Mumbai-based designer James Ferreira will be showcasing his new collection in the city today. Ferreira is one of the pioneers of the Indian fashion industry and has styled celebrities like Bipasha Basu, Sonam Kapoor and Freida Pinto. He is acclaimed for his stylish drapes and Western wear

Ferreira will be showcasing his Indian collection and men’s wear collection, for the first time, in the city.

1. Can you tell us about your new collection?
It has more of men’s wear as compared to women’s wear as I feel that even men are now becoming more aware about styling. I will be undertaking consulting as well at SADE store at North Main Road, Koregaon Park, on appointment. I will be showcasing more of kurtis and shirts for men.

2. What made you choose Pune asu00a0the venue?
Puneites have a good sense of fashion; there are a lot of youngsters who are settling in Pune and are more cultural than people in Mumbai. I like the atmosphere in the city; Koregaon Park is one of my favourite places. I like the food and the restaurants here. The people are always interested in the latest fashion and acceptu00a0it too.

3. Can you give us any tips for the festive season?

Traditional colours and fabrics should be used more during the festive season as they look the best. Hand-crafted things look good; colours like orange and mehendi green look nice. If you want to wear neon, it has to be on black or white apparel.
