USA’s swimming legend Michael Phelps (31) secretly tied the knot with girlfriend Nicole Johnson (31) in June in Paradise Valley, Arizona where the couple currently live, according to reports.

The 23-time Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer has however kept the wedding under wraps, for reasons better known to him. In fact, in a recent Facebook chat with fans, some of his followers asked him if he was married. When another viewer asked why the couple kept their marriage secret, he had a simple answer: "Why is it a secret? Just because. Got to always have something, guy."
But, it appears that the Phelpses held another wedding ceremony at the El Dorado Golf & Beach Club in Cabo, Mexico, recently.
The newlyweds released two photos of the ceremony on Instagram on Sunday of him walking down the aisle with the former Miss California USA.
"My best friend... I love you!!" Michael captioned his photo.
It is learnt that the couple been married on June 13th and the ceremony was officiated by Peter Carlisle, Phelps’ agent and good friend.
During the Rio Olympics in August, media reports had suggested that Phelps was engaged, but in fact, he was already married. Interestingly, a Twitter message from Johnson on June 13 gives a strong hint that the day was indeed special. She posted a picture of the couple casually dressed along with Baby Boomer in her arms and captioned it: “Such a memorable night with my lil fambam.”
