With popular singer-composer Mika Singh all set to make his Bollywood debut, he is back in the news. But this time, it’s for a good reason. The singer recently appeared on the reality show, Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, in order to promote his debut film and so impressed was he with the contestants’ performances that he distributed cheques to all of them.

Says a source, “Mika and Shaan came on the show to promote the film, Balwinder Singh Famous Ho Gaya. Mika was bowled over by all the performances in the show and he decided to distribute money to all the contestants from his own pocket.”

The source adds that Mika didn’t like the idea of awarding only one performance. “According to him, every performance in the show was outstanding and deserved appreciation. So he gave each contestant Rs 21,000 and there was this group of girls in the show that was Mika’s favourite, so he awarded them a cheque for Rs 51,000,” says a source close to the singer.

Farah Khan, who’s a judge on the show, confirmed the story. “Many celebrities come on this show but no one is as generous as Mika. He gave cheques to all the contestants. Participants in the show usually get Rs 11,000 as the prize money, but Mika gave them all cheques for Rs 21,000. Mika also runs a charity which works for women empowerment; Mona Singh and I will soon visit this NGO,” she said. Mika was unavailable for comment.
