Minister's 'son' on the run after con job

A man posing as the son of the state revenue minister has cheated the owner of a flat and a security agency of over Rs 2 lakh.

Aman Dutta, a businessman from Indiranagar, and ex-brigadier B K Agarwal have filed a complaint with Koramangala police.

Dutta said one Suhas Reddy had claimed to be son of revenue minister, G Karunakar Reddy, and had rented a fully-furnished flat for Rs 90,000. He said he was the managing director for a reputed company and was shifting his business from Bellary to Bangalore.

Bowled over by the political connections, Aman neither bothered to take an advance nor did he verify Reddy's permanent address. He gave him the flat keys and didn't ask for the first month's rent despite the due date passing.

When the second month went by without any payment, Aman went to verify and found the house locked.

Suhas' mobile number was not reachable. Sensing something fishy, he checked his background and realised that he was an impersonator, Aman said in his complaint.

While he went to the station, he found B K Agarwal, owner of My Choice security agency, who had also been cheated by Suhas.
