Two youths has been detained by Pune police, on Monday for allegedly manhandling and attempting to rape a New Delhi model who had come to Pune to give auditions.
The incident came to light, when 24-year-old model from New Delhi approached doctor in her hometown Delhi for medical treatment after she suffered cigarette burn injuries. The doctor immediately alerted the police. Initially, the case was reported with Kotla Mubarakpur police station in South Delhi by model and on Monday the case was transferred via Zero FIR to Pune.

The Chandannagar police station which falls under the jurisdiction of Pune city police have detained two youths hailing from Uttar Pradesh named Rohit and Harish.
Senior Inspector Anil Patrudkar of Chandannagar police station said, "On Monday morning we received a complaint via mail from Delhi police. Based on the victim complaint, we have detained two youth named Rohit and Harish. As per the victim's complaint, she met the accused via social networking site Facebook who called her to Pune for a shoot on March 10 in a Kharadi hotel. The shoot was to be held in Pune for a week. The complainant was treated well for two days after which the accused started demanding to get physical. When she denied, she was beaten and torched with cigarette butts. She somehow managed to flee from the place. Later she somehow managed to flee. On March 22 she went to New Delhi and approached doctor for treatment where she narrated her nightmare. The doctor then alerted the Delhi police and after which the complaint was registered."
He added, "We have received a communication from Delhi police and probe is going on. We have detained Rohit and Harish who are not co-operating in investigation but by evening we will be able to provide you with more details."
