Bangladesh yesterday named middle-order batsman Mominul Haque to replace Shakib Al Hasan in next month's Test series against Sri Lanka after the star all-rounder was ruled out due to injury.
Bangladesh will play two Tests, three one-dayers and one Twenty20 during their month-long tour of Sri Lanka, with the first Test starting at Galle on March 8.

Shakib, the 25-year-old former national captain, will have an operation in Australia this week for a shinbone injury which he has been suffering all season.
“He is expected to be able to resume playing four to six weeks after the surgery,” said Bangladesh Cricket Board physician Debashis Chowdhury, adding that Shakib would also need longer-term treatment for other injuries.u00a0
