Following a petty quarrel over money, a 21-year-old man was stabbed to death by three youths near a secluded place in Dhanakawadi on Tuesday night.
Deepak Raju Ghate, a resident of Ambegaon Pathar, was found dead by some morning walkers at 8 am yesterday and the police were alerted.
Three youths, identified as Gaurav Sarwad, Viresh Gutti and Chetan Jamdar, were arrested for the murder of Ghate.The police said all three arrested men were residents of Dhanakawadi.
“We got a call in the morning from a morning walker and came to know that a person was lying in a pool of blood near Mahadik school in Dhanakawadi,” Police Inspector Kamalakar Takwale of the Sahakarnagar police station said.
The police said that during investigations it was found that the three suspects had taken Ghate to a secluded area near Mahadik school and killed him following a dispute over some money which had been lent to the deceased.
The complaint in the case was registered by the sister of the deceased and the police arrested the accused under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC.
