Speaking to mid-day, Lakshmi Narayana said, "We have ordered an inquiry against the senior police inspector who appears in the video and the ACP Ambernath division is conducting it. After he submits the report, we shall look into the matter."

In the video that went viral, the cop is seen assaulting the youth and kicking him. Senior Police Inspector Waghmare said, "The locals of Prabhag Nagar area had lodged a complaint at the police station a couple of times. Later, on Saturday, some 30 people had come to the police station, so I went with them to the area to check the situation. I thought that the people themselves would start assaulting the couples. So I took the matter in my own hands and pushed them away."

He added, "In some situations, the locals claimed that whenever they confronted the couples, they would start threatening them, so we decided to take action against these couples."

What do u expect the Police to do..They have done the right thing by taking action against couple who do not disregard the law and OPENLY display their love, lust and affection. All the people who support such indecent couples should sponsor them to do the same behind closed doors, thus saving decent public which may include sr citizens, small children and families from forcefully having to watch such shameless acts and indecency in full public view.Keep it up ,Mumbai Police...

The police officer should be fired and the people that are complaining should mind their own business. This moral policing has to stop!

How can these cops have the rights to beat the guy? Asif have a common sense? what world you living? what public? The kids have access to more things in there hand than what you see there outside. If you trying to teach moral values start at your home. No one have any rights to raise the hand against anyone.

Asif, the act of the Police is much more shameless and indecent than whatever the couple was doing. We need to save our citizens and small children from the shameless acts of these Cops and the Politicians. Open display of love and affection is normal. They don't corrupt our society. People spitting on the streets, pissing on walls are far more shameless. Yet we don't take any action against them.
