Theme: During the 10-day festival, the Akhil Mandai Mandal is actively involved in spreading several social messages and activities. This year it has taken up female foeticide and the need to act against it. The mandal has put up numerous banners showing the issues behind female foeticide. The decoration theme depicts Mayur Mahal, which is also known as the peacock palace.
About the mandal: The Akhil Mandai Mandal has one of the most popular Ganeshotsavs in the city, which was started back in 1894. Lakhs of devotees come to take a glimpse of Lord Ganesha sitting on a swing with Goddess Sharada.
Security: The organisers have taken extreme caution with the security aspect. Around 10 CCTVs are put up across Mandai and around 30 private security guards and a large number of volunteers are placed throughout the day.u00a0

Where: Saibaba Temple, 615, Budhwar Peth, Bhau Rangari Road
Theme: This year the mandal has made a theme based on adulteration in food, fuel, medicine and foodgrains.
By using posters and banners on the subject, the mandal is demonstrating the fake goods with the help of chemical experts. A street play has been arranged for public awareness against food adulteration and a booklet has been made to circulate for the Ganpatati devotees during the festival days. President Amar Hireshikar, treasurer Piyush Shah, Chaitrali Hundiwale and Sajan Shinde took pains to decorate the Ganpati stage with the social message against food adulteration.
About the mandal: Established in 1959, the mandal is being run by the younger generation and has many social activities throughout the year. The Saibaba Temple is more than 40 years old and is run by the business community in the area. The mandal has been honoured for its best security system and its CCTV footage helped the police catch a suspected robber very recently.
