The 105th edition of the ‘Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers’ Nadkarni Cup football tournament will get underway at the RCF Ground in Chembur today. The tournament will see participation from the city’s 12 top clubs, including I-League side ONGC and I-League Division II sides Kenkre FC and PIFA-Colaba FC.
Holders Mumbai FC and Air India will not feature this time as their I-league games clash with the tournament. The final will be held on October 18. Abir Banerjee, Executive Director of RCF, said: “The winners will get Rs 60,000 and runners-up will be richer by Rs 40,000. Also, the best player of the tournament will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000.”u00a0
