"The bodies were found today (Wednesday) along the railway tracks near the Bankata railway station in Deoria district," the officer, Raj Kumar Chaudhary, said on phone.

The district headquarters is about 300 km from state capital Lucknow.
He said the reason behind the suicides is yet to be ascertained, but it could be marital discord. The 34-year-old mother, Kunti Devi, reportedly had a strained relationship with her husband.
"We have taken Kunti Devi's husband Manoj Kumar into custody to probe his role," Chaudhary said.
The four children, including three girls, were aged between two and 11.
