Mother's lover hatched plot to eliminate boy

25-year-old wrestler paid Rs 80,000 to goons for killing HSC student as he was against their relationship; victim's mother was unaware of her paramour's evil plan

Two unidentified persons, who unsuccessfully tried to eliminate a 17-year-old boy last month, were actually hired by his mother's lover. According to the Airport Police, the lover of Vrushabh Tomar's mother hatched the plan to eliminate the boy as he was against their relationship. The police have arrested two persons, including the lover, Durgappa alias Rajabhau Narsu Waghmode (25), a wrestler, for allegedly hatching the plot.

Hefty sum
Waghmode had allegedly paid Rs 80,000 to one Padurang alias Balu Jaggannath Gaikwad (25) and another person, whose identity is yet to be established, to carry out the operation. The Police have also arrested Gaikwad in this regard. Police Inspector Prakash Shah said, "The assailants had their faces covered so it was difficult for the victim to identify them. Moreover, nothing was snatched from him."

Interrogation
He added, "We spoke to the victim's friends and school authorities but did not get any crucial leads. But when our staff members were recording Tomar's statement, they noticed that Waghmode was present there to keep himself abreast of the proceedings. His over eagerness to know what was being recorded prompted us to probe his background. During interrogation we came to know that Gaikwad and Vrushabh's mother were in a relationship for the past five years. Since Tomar had objected to this alliance, Waghmode hatched a conspiracy to eliminate him."

The eyewitnesses present at the time of the incident informed that the assailants disappeared in two vehicles, of which one belonged to Gaikwad. He added that the case was little tricky, as neither the victim, nor his mother ever suspected Waghmode's role behind this brutal attack. The Airport Police, however, are yet to arrest one more person for attacking Tomar. The incident had taken place on October 5. Tomar was returning after attending tuition class when two unidentified persons attacked him with knives.
