Los Angeles: Following the death of heavy metal icon and Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister, current drummer of the band Mikkey Dee has confirmed that the group is "over".

Dee made the heartbreaking announcement saying the band will not do any tour or perform in future, reported Aceshowbiz.

"Motorhead is over, of course. Lemmy was Motorhead. We won't be doing any more tours or anything. And there won't be any more records. But the brand survives, and Lemmy lives on in the hearts of everyone," he said.

Dee, 52, joined the band in 1992 as a replacement to Phil Taylor. Calling Lemmy a "terribly gaunt" the drummer said it was amazing of him to perform with full energy considering his medical condition.

"He was terribly gaunt, he spent all his energy onstage and afterwards he was very, very tired. It's incredible that he could even play, that he could finish the Europe tour. It was only 20 days ago. Unbelievable," he said.

"It feels fantastic that we were able to complete the tour with him. It's heartening that we didn't cancel because of Lemmy. I'm incredibly grateful over the years we had, and that we had such a good time together," he added.

Lemmy passed away at the age of 70 following a short battle with "an extremely aggressive cancer.
