Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton (32) was lost in the memories of his ex-girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger (38), hours before his Bahrain Grand Prix yesterday.

The distraction may have resulted in him being edged out by Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel, who won his second race of the season in Manama. The three-time Formula One World Champion posted a video on Instagram listening to Scherzinger's 2005 Pussycat Dolls hit number 'Stickwitu' and wrote: "Nicole used to sing this to me, such a beautiful song. Good times."

The lyrics of the song goes — 'Nobody gonna love me better, I'm gon' stick wit you forever, Nobody gonna take me higher, I'm gon' stick wit you.'

In the video, Hamilton is sitting alone listening to the song. At one instance, he even covers his face to hide his emotions.

The couple were in an on-off relationship for eight years before finally splitting in 2015. Currently, Scherzinger is dating Bulgarian tennis ace Grigor Dimitrov (25).
