Movie Review: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The curious case of Benjamin Button is an 'epic' of adventure, romance and irony. The story revolves around a man who ages in reverse. It is an adaptation from a 1920's story, where a man is born and is aged to around eighties and ages backwards in bizarre consequences.
A boy is born, looking like a man in his 80s, into a prominent family in New Orleans. The parents abandon the kid near a church. A woman, Queenie (Taraji P Henson), adopts the kid against her husband's wish. She names him Benjamin (Brad Pitt). The boy grows up all alone as the kids of his age do not want to mingle with him, as he is much more mature to his age. As he grows up, his wrinkles starts vanishing and he starts getting younger by the day. He then meets Daisy (Cate Blanchett) and falls in love with her. Benjamin goes haywire, and goes travelling the world in a tugboat like a nomad. Meanwhile, Daisy grows up to become a top Ballerina dancer. Benjamin returns to her and the movie ends on a happy note.
In terms of technicality, the movie is brilliant and the digital make-up works wonders. Brad Pitt, one of sexiest men alive, gets into the skin of the character and performs with u00c3u00a9lan. Cate Blanchett too has done a good job. The movie is a triumph of technique and this factor simply makes the flick watchable.
