India's ODI captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni celebrates his 35th birthday today and the cricket fraternity from BCCI president to his former and current teammates, sent their wishes.

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar wished the man from Jharkand along with a pic from their playing days saying: Happy Birthday @msdhoni .. Have a wonderful and blessed year ahead!!


Virender Sehwag wished the Ranchi boy in his trademark humoured style and called for declaring July 7 as 'National Helicopter Day'.

Besides Virender Sehwag and VVS Laxman too wished the wicketkeeper on his special day.

The International Cricket Council's (ICC) official handle posted: "Happy Birthday to one of the greatest captains of all
time, as well as an exceptional batsman and WK, @msdhoni!".

Amitabh Bachchan wrote, "Happy birthday MS."

The International Cricket Council also paid tribute to the cricket star with a birthday wish as well as a throwback post.

BCCI President Anurag Thakur also went on to send his wishes to the ODI skipper.

Dhoni is the only Indian captain to have led his side in all three major ICC tournaments. Right from winning the maiden T20 World Cup in 2007 on his debut as captain to leading India to a World Cup title on home soil in 2011 and helping the team maintain the top spot in the Test rankings, he is the most successful Indian captain.

In 2013, he also became the only Indian captain to clinch the ICC Champions Trophy.

Dhoni has scored 8918 runs from 278 ODIs that he has played so far at a strike rate of 89.27.

Under Dhoni's captaincy, India remained the number one Test team for a period of 18 months from December 2009.

He has scored 4876 runs in 90 Test matches that includes 9 hundreds and 33 fifties.
