Stanislaus captain Axl Fernandes opened the scoring for the Bandra school via a brilliant field goal in the sixth minute. After a 1-0 lead, Don Bosco tried hard equalise, but failed to score.

Skipper Axl then scored his second goal (39th minute) to seal the fate of the match. Stanislaus last won this title way back in 2005-06. "Don Bosco have always been our arch-rivals in sport, so it's a great feeling to beat them.

We always play each other in the final and mostly it is they who win. So, today is special for us," said Axl. Stanislaus coach Stephen Pereira said his boys deserved the title: "We played a lot better than the Bosco boys."

Don Bosco coach Javed Sayed admitted his team was below par. "Stanislaus played the passing game while we were just hitting the ball and running," said Sayed.

Meanwhile, in the third-place match, Karan Shukla's goal helped Don Bosco 'B' (Matunga) beat Children's Academy (Malad) 1-0.
