Riding on striker Rohan Travas' brace, Holy Family (Andheri) thrashed St Xavier's (Bhandup) 4-0 in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) boys U-16 Division II inter-school football match at Azad Maidan yesterday.

Rohan opened the scoring for the Andheri school in the 10th minute via a brilliant solo effort. Rohan Butola doubled the lead in the 20th minute after he tapped in from close range. At half-time, Holy Family comfortably led 2-0.

After resumption of play, Aaron D'Souza pounced on a loose ball to beat St Xavier's goalkeeper Aman Singh to score the third goal in the 27th minute for the Andheri school. Rohan then completed the rout in the 47th minute for Holy Family.
Holy Family coach Neil Fernandes said Rohan was the team''s mainstay and had helped the team win their previous encounter too.
"Rohan is an integral part of the team. Though he didn't score in the opening game, he created chances for us then. Today, he was brilliant. We have only played two matches so far but our aim is to earn a promotion to Division I this year," said Fernandes.
Late entry
Meanwhile, St Xavier's, who are playing in Division II despite earning a promotion to Division I, due to a delay in sending their entry to MSSA seemed to have anticipated the outcome in advance.
Coach Patrick George, who has been roped in only recently, said it was good that his team didn't participate in Division I. "It might be a matter of pride to play in Division I but right now this team is not ready for it.
They will not even last 10 minutes against stronger teams in the elite division, so it's good that we are in Division II. I began training this team only on July 25 and we played our first match on July 27. So, I am not expecting any miracles overnight," said George.
