Mumbai: Goregaon college professors sent on forced leave for demanding bribe

Following allegations of demanding bribe to pass students, two faculty members from a Goregaon-based college were sent on forced leave. According to a report by The Free Press Journal, Udayraj Gamre and Examinations head of the college Mira Joshi were apparently penalised with this decision by Patkar-Varde College authorities following pressure from Maharashtra Navnirman Vidyarthi Sena (MNVS).

Over 33 students have alleged that Gamre had demanded bribe in both cash and kind to pass them in their internal examinations. Vishal Sonawane, the student, who brought this matter to notice has claimed that the college principal and management are also in cahoots with them.
