The Pydhonie police arrested two juveniles on Thursday morning for allegedly attacking a minor girl after kidnapping her. The incident took place near Masjid railway station.

According to the police, the 15-year-old girl had met one of these two juveniles last year during Bakri Id and fallen in love. The minor girl’s family recently got to know about her affair with the 16-year-old boy who is a 10th standard student. Ergo, the family started forcing her not to meet the boy.

On Wednesday at around 9 pm, the girl went out of her house to buy cheese, when the 16-year-old boy, along with his 15-year-old friend, pounced upon the girl and forcibly dragged her away from the shop. The girl told the boy that she would not be able to meet him as she was being warned by her brother-in-law.

The girl also told the boy that her brother-in-law would kill him if she meets him again. A senior police official told mid-day, “After hearing that the girl can’t meet him, the boy got agitated. He said that he would kill the girl and then he attacked the girl with a blade.”

The girl then fell on the ground and was unconscious for around half an hour. She was later taken to St George Hospital and her statement was recorded by the police on Thursday. The 15-year-old friend of the boy was also taken into custody, as he was present at the scene of the crime.

He had ostensibly gone there to resolve the issue when the incident took place. The Pydhonie police have registered a case under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The juveniles have been sent to the Dongri children’s home.
