The Oshiwara police are on the hunt for a motorist who crashed into a 21-year-old biker and left him for dead on the Western Express Highway. The victim was rushed to hospital by the police and passers-by, but was declared dead on arrival.

The Oshiwara police received information about a man spotted lying on the road close to the Jogeshwari flyover with a crushed bike. On reaching the spot, the police identified the victim as Sahil Mishra though the identity cards on his person. The accused motorist who crashed into Mishra's bike had fled the scene.

The Oshiwara police informed Mishra's father and the body was later handed over to the family after conducting the post-mortem. Mishra had left home in the morning, telling his family members that he was going out for some work.
He was on his way home when the accident took place near the Balasaheb Thackeray Flyover in Jogeshwari East.

Cops are combing CCTV footage to identify the vehicle and driver who crashed into the bike and sped away without informing the police or rushing Sahil to a hospital for immediate medical aid.

A police officer said, "We have registered an FIR under sections 304A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC and under sections of the Motor Vehicle Act against an unknown person. We are scanning CCTV footage in the vicinity to identify the vehicle and its driver. Further action will follow soon."
