Aseer Ahmad Khan, who was cruising along the Western Express Highway at Santacruz around 5am, suddenly found himself upside down after a speeding Scorpio hit his Swift Dzire, two taxis and sped off. Four people were injured in the accident, and the taxis were badly damaged. The police are looking for the SUV as no one was able to take down the full number of the Scorpio.

Khan said, "I only remember the SUV crashing into my car, which then crashed into the highway divider and turned upside down. I somehow managed to get out of the car and saw a couple of other motorists trying to go after the Scorpio but he had fled at very high speed. I live in Vakola and after dropping off a friend at the domestic airport, I was on my way home. I was lucky to get away with minor bruises."

Lucky Shaikh, 28, who had hired a cab from the International airport to reach his home in Antop Hill after dropping off a friend, said, "I was lucky to escape with minor injuries. All I can remember of the car number is that it ended with 6. When the cab reached Santacruz bridge, the speeding Scorpio crashed into it, badly damaging the boot. The impact threw me from my seat into the back of the front seat. When the cab driver and I got out of the vehicle, we saw the Scorpio driver had crashed into another cab while attempting to flee and then crashed into a Swift Dzire which flipped upside down."

The incident caused a traffic jam on the Santacruz bridge before the police arrived and cleared the area.

Inspector Shivaji Jagtap of Vakola police station said, "We have recorded the incident in the accident diary but the witnesses and victims could not recollect the number of the car. No one has sustained major injuries in the accident. We are looking for the culprit."
