A taxi on the Freeway. A biker in Govandi. These have been the victims of corporate lawyer Janhavi Gadkar’s car. Police now suspect that the 35-year-old also knocked down a pedestrian in Colaba a fortnight before the deadly Freeway accident on June 9 in which her Audi dashed into a taxi, killing two people.

According to the RCF police in Chembur, Gadkar may have dashed into a pedestrian in Colaba. Police learnt that the lawyer’s car had knocked down a pedestrian somewhere near Colaba causeway. But the matter was not reported to the Colaba police as the two parties settled amicably.

mid-day had reported earlier that a couple of days before the Freeway horror, Gadkar had knocked down two men on a bike in Govandi. Both of them were security guards with the BARC and her car had collided with their bike from behind, throwing them off the two-wheeler.

All of them were taken to Shatabdi Hospital and Gadkar had pleaded with T R Betkar, one of the guards, to not report the matter to the cops. “Now we have come to know that she had knocked down one person in Colaba, but nothing has been reported with the Colaba police.

We are trying to find the victim, as he can add to our case and make it strong,” said a police officer, who is privy to the investigations. Police are still trying to glean more details about the Colaba accident and may question Gadkar once again. They have even questioned some shopkeepers at Colaba causeway, but did not find any clues.

“We are trying to find if any incident had taken place in Colaba and if Janhavi had knocked down a person there also. But presently we don’t have any information and are working on it,” said a senior police officer, on condition of anonymity.
